The Albanese Government is building a better future for Indigenous Australians.
Our priorities are the priorities First Nations people have identified: Health, Education, Justice, Jobs and Housing, making progress on Closing the Gap and economic empowerment.
Since coming to government, we’ve been working in partnership with First Nations organisations and state and territory governments to deliver better outcomes and improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
We’re making sure families have safe, quality housing by building more new homes, and repairing and maintaining existing houses in remote communities.
We’re making sure communities have better access to quality health services by improving health infrastructure and expanding access to dialysis for people with kidney disease.
We’re helping families get good quality, culturally appropriate education, that sets the next generation up for success.
We’re making sure people in remote communities have the dignity of work. We are getting rid of the failed CDP and creating jobs with decent pay and conditions.
We’re working to improve community safety by funding early intervention services through our landmark funding for justice reinvestment.
We’re improving food security in remote areas and making sure people have better access to healthy and affordable food.
And we’re improving the quality of drinking water in remote communities – because all Australians, no matter where they live should have safe water.
